Shorty's Rescue Network

The creation of Shorty's Rescue Network is an attempt and effort to assist in matchmaking individuals who need permanent homes for the dogs they have in their care and potentially find new homes by posting your dog here. Reason(s) for rehoming the dog:_I rescued him about 3-4 months ago from my abusive neighbor and after seeing he doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body and is more lovable than I thought possible, I've been searching for a new home for him. I already have 2dogs and cannot afford to take care of him, and he needs more time and attention than I'm capable of giving.

Reason(s) for rehoming the dog:__Owner is DESPERATELY trying to find a home for Libby, a very small pit-bull mix (with Labrador and/or Border Collie) that is so incredibly sweet, mild-mannered and well-behaved. She and her husband have to move to an apartment and the complex won't allow pets. She called me because she remembered how much I loved her dogs. Unfortunately, I no longer have the means to take in more pets where I now live.

Aside from being incredibly sweet and loyal,
(Owner says that she would pay anyone a Million Dollars if Libby would ever bite them!!! - just kidding about the money part, though!)
    she:
    - barks on command (rarely ever barks otherwise)
    - is not food aggressive

I can attest to ALL of the above statements.
When I babysat Libby, I had a dog and a cat, and Libby got along famously with both of them.

Libby is 8 or 9 years old and only about 35 pounds. Owner adopted her from a CAT rescue when she was 2 years old. Her birthday is some time in August.

We are hoping that someone can either open their home to this sweet pup or knows of someone or somewhere that could take her in and let her live the last years of her life happily, the way she deserves. She LOVES people!!

Owner is moving very soon, March 14th, 2014, and anxious to give her dog a forever home. She’s really hoping to give Libby another loving home rather than have her sent to death row. It also would crush her to have to put Libby down.
