Shorty's Rescue Network

The creation of Shorty's Rescue Network is an attempt and effort to assist in matchmaking individuals who need permanent homes for the dogs they have in their care and potentially find new homes by posting your dog here. 1. CITY THE DOG IS LOCATED: Omaha, NE
DEADLINE DATE FOR NEW HOME TO BE FOUND: 9/1/12

Good with other dogs? No. He is a sweet dog, but was heavily abused for the first 4 years of his life. He loves women and trusts them for the most part. I am a single male and adopted him in January 2012 from the humane society. It took us about 2 months to fully develop a trusting relationship, and now he goes everywhere I go.
Good with cats? I can't say yes or no for sure since he's never been around them since I have had him. I know in his previous adoption papers, they stated he did live with a cat.
Good with children? No, All young ages. Part of his abuse was received from children and he has very little patience for them. He won't actively go and bite them, but if he is provoked, the chance is good he will.
    Leash Trained? Yes
    Housetrained? Yes
Crate trained? Not sure, but he hasn't had an issue when he's been in one.
Obedience trained? Not officially, but he is very calm, well behaved, and listens to commands.

    Spayed or neutered? Yes

Can you provide proof of the following vaccinations; Dhlp-p, Bordatella, Rabies ? Yes, they came with him from the Humane Society when he was adopted.
Do you have the receipts for the vaccinations? The humane society should have them.
Medical Concerns or Current Health Issues: No
Reason(s) for rehoming the dog:_I love him and think he is an excellent companion.I am in my early 30's and know one day I will have kids or meet a woman with kids, and it wouldn't be an ideal situation for him. He would be perfect for a single person or a couple with limited visits from children. He is so very well behaved and loyal that it's painful to give him up, but the it's in his best interest long term. ______________________________________________________
